Breathing Risks ?
So I just found out that it is a higher risk for a woman to have a c-section before the 39th week. So, since my husbands mom was born on December 16 he wanted me to schedule the C-Section for that day.
Babies born by elective C-section before the 39th week of pregnancy have a three- to fourfold higher risk of breathing trouble than babies whose mothers have a normal vaginal delivery.
Elective C-section babies also have a fivefold higher risk of needing mechanical breathing assistance for serious respiratory trouble,
"Mothers who choose elective cesarean section should be aware that the risk of respiratory problems is four times raised at 37 weeks'
It's not worth it to me for any reason to want to jeopardize my baby. Even though her breathing might not be noticable at first... later in life is always a possibility. So we stay with the 26th. Thats what I say, I'm not that stupid.
